Weekend Recap.

This weekend was a fun one! Friday Megan and I went to the Gryphon to see Nate Graham again; shared some drunken college night stories and had fun! I picked up a new turtle this weekend to give Vladimir a brother. His name is Oliver and he's basically the same species of turtle. Megan and I set up the new "home" and it looks great, I'll post pictures shortly. We went ice skating at Penn's Landing last night. For all my years of living in and or near Philadelphia, I have never been to Penn's Landing for ice skating. Foolish me!!!

I watched some new episodes of Top Gear via OnDemand and it got my excitement rolling again for the series. New episodes are on every Monday at 8pm on BBC America. I'm definitely catching i tonight as I forgot and or missed the past couple of Monday airings.

Vladimir!

Megan and I got a turtle last night!

His name is Vladimir, but I've already started calling him other names such as Vlad, Vladm, Vladmir, Mir, Vladdy, Lad, Vladlicious, Vladtastic, Vladster (you get the point by now)!!

He's freaking awesome; we spotted him eating a fish in the pet store and knew that was the one that we wanted. Megan's all about making his home a happy and playful one which is adorable which is what any "mother" would want to do; while I'm being the "father" and making sure the guy stays alive (water temp, diet, sunlight, environment, water sloutions, etc.).

Check him out, I believe he is a Cooter, but we're unsure. If you know what kind of turtle he is, please let me know. Thanks!!

Pictures:

So if my estimates are correct, and with proper care, he should live over 40 years. We're retiring together buddy!

Cheers!

Reflection

Well I'm off to meet my fortune in the big old world,
You know it won't take long to get where I'm going,
Maybe it'll help feel myself again.

- Jeremy Warmsley

Inside of me, there's a sad machine that wants to stop movin
I want my, frustrations,
To know that you are alright

- Albert Hammond Jr.

To be lost in the forest, to be cut adrift,
You've been trying to reach me,
You bought me a book,
I've been paid, I've been paid

And you told me you wanted to eat up my sadness,
Well jump on, enjoy, you can gorge away
And you told me you wanted to eat up my sadness,
Jump Right

- Bloc Party

I know there's a big world out there,
Like the one I saw on the screen ,
In my living room late last night,
It was almost too bright to see,
I know that it's not a party,
If it happens every night,
Pretending there's glamor and candelabra,
When you're drinking by candlelight .

Guinea Pig Olympics

This really cracks me up.

Wanted

I am usually a fan of watching movies only ONCE as they tend to bore me. Don't get me wrong; I enjoy watching movies, but knowing the same thing is going to happen again and you can predict it doesn't really rock my socks off if you know what I mean. On the other hand though, there are some movies that you must absolutely watch twice as the movie just had so much damn action, or the ending or story plot leaves you saying "What the ****?".

Now I'm not usually one to gloat and bloat about a movie, but, "Wanted" leaves you saying those exact words. With it's witticism and satire/irony it really makes you laugh at inappropriate things or have you saying, "I always wanted to do that to my boss, etc.". The closing line is what really gets to the audience as it really makes you think about yourself, current situation and what you can do about it; now I won't spoil it for you folks, but if you're truly interested in being "moved" through a movie through one line, then this is the movie to watch all the way to the end.

With me basically sending out free promotions for this movie; the only thing I have left to say is,

"Put in the movie and watch it, CLOWN."

Cheers,

Mat

End of 08 - Beginning 2009

New Year's eve was great. Meg and I stopped by 2 parties and then headed out to West Chester for the rest of the night to bring in the new year. Christmas was great as well! I stopped by plenty of houses and visited family and friends! I had a sudden realization that I want to do something more fulfilling; something moving - that has a positive impact on people's live. I don't know what that is, but God has a plan for me!

I'm so bad keeping these blogs updated and it's hard to write some of this at work because as soon as I start typing; I swear my boss hears me typing and has to tell me about her kids Christmas presents. Right now she's talking about Nintendo DS, something about Ariel, a yawn here and there, her car's headlight bulb being burnt out, a chat room on Nintendo Ds. I'm about ready to throw this laptop across the hall to her!

I'll update this tonight when I have peace and quiet!!! Bah-humbug!
